This is a wonderful game for anyone who loves shmups, explosions or frantic action. I love the procedural generation and variety of weapons, too. Highly recommended.. Don't be fooled. Roche Fusion is a different shoot-em-up than you're used to. The game is balanced in a way that doesn't make sense until you put an hour into it. You feel very weak, powerups are VERY challenging to acquire (they disappear after just a couple seconds), and you have murderously-low health. However, you regenerate health quickly, and blitzing through a small bit of enemy fire is accepted as a feature. You have to use what the game gives you and through some twisted alternate reality, the rules of the game all make sense somehow. You have to adapt to its design, or you'll get hammered.Upgrades are provided on a rogue-lite model, so if that's your thing Roche Fusion will deliver.I'm done playing the game, but I appreciate buying and experiencing it. It's very difficult and all the controls work great.. I'm fairly new to the shmup genre. I used to play them back in the arcade days (80s and 90s) but just recently I've started checking a few out on PC. This one looked like a lot of fun based on the procedurally generated stuff and the ship upgrades.And it is. It moves a little too fast and it gets really hard really fast, even on easy, but I still like it. The weapons are interesting, the graphics are nice, it's not too busy that you can't tell what's going on, and the upgrade and unlock system is really cool.[Edit] The game was crashy after 20-30 minutes but it may be that I'm using a sound card. The developer provided a fix that replaces the OpenAL DLL file and that seems to have solved the issue. I was real impressed at the quick response!Out of the recent shmups I've picked up and started playing, so far this is the best of the bunch. The music reminds me a little of Daft Punk and it has a really slick presentation. Thumbs up![Edit]Still really enjoying this game. It's fun to pick up and play and shoot a few things. The upgrade system and randomization is a blast, as well as unlocking new ships. It still gets hard pretty quick even on Easy, but it's just so smooth and fun!. Pretty good and very addictive. A shame it was "abandoned". There was a ton of potential here for more content\/features.It's not an easy game. Unlocking most of the ships is pretty tough and can be frustrating, not to mention most of the ships are garbage.My only gripe about it is how the game doesn't explain some things to you on purpose so that you go "discover them" on your own. I'm fine with a game not holding your hand, but not explaining core mechanics like how the combos work is taking the whole thing a little too far for my taste.. That is a very good shmup! It is minimalist and simple, bit it knows what it want to do and it does it really well. Explosion are everywhere and score go high really fast. Add loads of neon colors and you have a high-octave blood pumping experience.Thanks to the variety of ships and upgrades there is as lot of replay value. Also I like that the varied ennemies are color-codes so you know what to expect of them in a glance. Though, the upgrades offered at the end of waves are randomised, so it might happen that the game offers you only \u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665\u2665 ones, which can ruin your run.While not perfect, Roche Fusion has enough to offer to get you glued to your screen for hours. Try to get a friend to play co-op with too for extra amazingness!. give it 6 minutes, you will love it.. Hectic shmup, featuring procedurally generated levels, rechargable shields, lots of weapons and upgrades and a wide assortment of enemies. Great replayability value. This is basically Tyrian for the new generation. Recommended!
